Summary of Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Risk and Compliance Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating risks, ensuring that the company adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. The Risk and Compliance Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance risk management processes, compliance frameworks, and maintain a robust risk management culture within the organization.
- Identify and assess potential risks (financial, operational, regulatory, etc.) that could impact the organization.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and ensure their effectiveness.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and report on emerging risks and mitigation plans.
- Plan and execute quarterly Risk & Compliance Committee. Lead risk management evaluation process aligning with YMC’s instruction. Support development and execution of the progress of risk management action plan activities. Continuously look for improvements to the risk management process.
- Maintain comprehensive records of risk assessments and audit activities.
- Liaise with insurance company and manage the annual renewal process, processing claims, bonds, and certificates of insurance (COI).
- Manage annual updates of the dealer’s policy and procedure manual, demo ride guidance and spill team guidance. Oversee the corporate filing, contest reporting, corporate approval listing and stewardship programs reporting and auditing. Provide environmental awareness and support environmental initiatives from YMC.
- Ensure adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
- Monitor changes in regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the company’s operations.
- Perform regular internal audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
- Provide legal support to departments and staff members with the preparation, documentation and coordination of any licensing, contractual and other agreements with vendors, suppliers, and other business partners. Manage the approval flow for all contracts and agreements. Oversee YMCA’s MAP policy and act upon any infringements to the policy. Liaise with legal counsel when needed.
- Member of Health and Safety Committee, draft and review policies & procedures and communications related to staff health and safety. An active member of the committee performing building inspections and leading meetings. Ensure SDS are updated and accessible to all staff and are compliant with Canadian laws and regulations.
- Educate and provide training for employees on compliance requirements, company policies, and best practices for risk management.
- Provide support to Yamaha staff through issuance of written correspondence and verbal response for any regulatory and/or compliance issues and company policies. Ensure that all company policies are approved and posted following YMCA guidelines and Canadian laws and regulations. Liaise with the training department and legal counsel to ensure employee/dealer compliance.
- Liaise with Accounting and Finance to set-up vendors, pay invoices, follow up on payment and provide budgeting support.

Additional
- Degree/Diploma: Bachelor’s Degree
- Program of Study: Business Administration or related field
- Years of Experience: 2+ years of experience in risk management, compliance, or a related field
- Type of Experience: Finance department of a mid-sized company
- Self-organized and has ability to prioritize tasks and ensure all deadlines are met
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with SAP
