Located in Shediac – Region 5 of South-Central New Brunswick, Canada, the ATV Country Wheelers Club have four season trails for ATV enthusiasts. The club was started in late 1999 with only a few members and has been growing with an aim to help sustain and protect the environment in their area. The team intends to use the Stay Outdoors Grant to provide a new warming shelter and year-round facility to support the local ATV riders in various ways.
Based out of Mt. Carmel near Wellington Station on PEI’s southwest end, the club is a pioneer within the ATV organized clubs with a large network of winter-groomed trails for tracked and wheeled quads. The club holds on to their Acadian roots with cultural activities and excellent summer riding programs across their 80-100km trail. With the help of the Yamaha Stay Outdoors Grant, the team aims to improve waterway bridges going around farmland and continue to build to benefit their community with outdoor activities, which includes music nights, weekly draws, mud fests, destination runs, hockey games, and so much more.
Linked with Pynn’s Brook to Gallants on the West Coast of Newfoundland, the trail network encompasses the North & South Shores of the Bay of Islands to promote and provide a safe snowmobile trail for all riders. With 30 years in the community, the club consistently upgrades existing and new multi-use trails that cater to snowmobile and ATV/UTV riders, while also organizing annual snocross and uphill drag races. The Stay Outdoors Grant will help the team at WSR to achieve their vision of an integrated multi-use trail system and ensure riders are safer and accessible to more outdoor trails all season long for snowmobiles, ATVs, side-by-sides, motorcycles, and e-bikes.
Located in British Columbia, the Powell River Salmon Society has been enhancing Pacific salmon populations and community education since 1982. The Stay Outdoors grant will fund essential fish food for over 1.5 million salmon fry, supporting their core operations and educational outreach. With this support, the team can further focus on training volunteers, maintaining ecological balance, and offering unique fishing experiences.
Located in Ontario, the Johnstown ATV Club is committed to providing safe and enjoyable trails for riders of all ages. Their project aims to restore and enhance trail access by improving drainage and raising trail height, ensuring year-round accessibility. This grant will help create more forest trails, reducing reliance on roads and offering a safer, more immersive riding experience for everyone, including families and seniors. The use of proper signage will enhance trail navigation, promoting outdoor activities in the community.
The Vancouver Island Dirt Riders Association (VIDRA) manages the Tansky Recreation Site's trail network. They aim to complete a professionally developed Trail Master Plan, which will guide future trail management and development. This plan will enhance trail utilization, improve connectivity, and offer more trails for all skill levels. The project also supports environmental preservation and strengthens the recreational economy in the surrounding communities.
